Saint Jude Catholic School, in collaboration with the National Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus, hosted and administered the Sacrament of Baptism to 12 Judenites from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 last March 26, 2023. The Baptismal Rites was officiated by Rev. Fr. Antonio Yuhang Wang, SVD, OIC-Parish Priest of the National Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus.
After learning about the scheduled First Holy Communion, the students through their parents expressed their desire to be baptized in the Catholic Church through the school either as a prerequisite before receiving the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist or just out of their willingness to join the Catholic faith.
The catechumens attended an online catechism organized by the Religion and Character Education Department also in collaboration with the Campus Ministry Office and the Elementary Department. Rev. Fr. Peter Mei Li, SVD, SJCS’ Assistant Principal for Chinese Affairs and Rev. Fr. Rudyard Base, SVD, SJCS’ Associate School Chaplain were the resource speakers for the online catechism.
Below is the list of the newly baptized Catholics:
