Qualifications

The transferee must have…

  1. Completed the academic year in his/her present school.
  2. Studied in a school that adapts the DepEd Basic Education Curriculum, or its equivalent.
  3. English, Math, and Chinese lessons at par with the level they are applying for.
  4. Pass the interview with the Head Teachers and Priest Administrator.
  5. Complied with all the requirements for admissions.
  6. Have no failing grades in the report card from his/her current school for two consecutive years.
  7. Have not been subjected to disciplinary and/or any form of behavioral sanctions in his/her current school for two consecutive years.
  8. For Junior High School, the general average grades in English, Math, and Science should be at least 85%.

Admission Process

Step 1

Create an account at the Applicants Access Portal by clicking this link: Applicant Access Module

Step 2

Download and print the APPLICATION FORM. Present the form and pay PhP 600 at the Cashier’s Office (Ground Floor).

Step 3

Submit the application and requirements at the Admissions Office (Mezzanine Floor):

  1.  NSO/PSA Birth Certificate (3 clear photocopies, bring original)
  2. Baptismal Certificate, if baptized Catholic (2 clear photocopies, bring original)
  3. Applicant’s Chinese name (written in traditional Chinese characters)
  4. 4 recent 1×1 pictures

 

Additional Requirements for FOREIGN NATIONALS:

    • Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) (3 clear photocopies, bring original)
    • Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV)
    • Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV)
    • Valid Foreign Passport

Step 4

Schedule your child’s assessment/interview at the Admissions Office.

Bring the completed Health Information Sheet from the child’s pediatrician on the assessment day.

1. Do you accept foreign nationals?
你們接受外籍生嗎？
Yes, but there are additional requirements that must be submitted. Please check the “additional requirements for foreign nationals” under the list of requirements.

2. Do you accept foreign nationals on tourist visa?
你們接受持有旅遊簽證的外籍生嗎？
Yes, but he/she must apply for a study permit visa.

3. Do you accept transferees?
你們接受轉學生嗎？
Yes, subject to the result of the child’s assessment.

4. Do you accept students who have no formal Chinese education prior to applying to SJCS?
你們學校接受沒有受過正規華文教育的學生嗎？
Yes, as long as they have complete Admission Requirements and have pass their panel interview from the Head teachers and Program Chair. However, applicants who did not pass their assessment with the Chinese Head Teacher will be required to take a modular Chinese course which will focus on appreciating of Chinese culture and basic lessons on Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
