Mr Robledo and IB Students publish their work at UIJIR journal
“To get to know, to discover, to publish–this is the destiny of a scientist.” — Francois Arago
We are proud to announce that the experiences of IBDP Biology students Megan Mae Chu, Eleen Hanna Labarez, Lara Renos and Jessica Velasco entitled “Out of the Classroom: IB students’ experiences and tips on the use of home-based Biology experiments for internal assessment” have earned a space in the prestigious Universe International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (UIJIR). It can be accessed from https://uijir.com/out-of-the-classroom-ib-students…/. The said students are under the invigilation and mentorship of Mr. Dave Arthur Robledo, SJCS IBDP Biology and Physics teacher.
The pandemic has greatly affected the world. Nonetheless, everyone is called to rise above and continue with the usual activities, observing caution and greater resourcefulness. These students just did that. They were unperturbed and turned to home-based experiments to complete their IB requirement.
They shared their experiences in this paper and were able to prove that experiential learning activities can still be carried out even on a remote learning modality. Moreover, with the publication of their experiences, these learners are able to help advance knowledge and its application – beyond the classroom.
Congratulations, SJCS IB learners!
Distinctively, IB!
